What Are The Common Issues With The 1KD-FTV Hilux Engine?
Although a decent and reliable engine the 1KD-FTV requires regular maintenance to avoid big issues!
One of the most common faults of these engines is oil starvation caused by blocked oil pick ups which restricts oil flow! These engines also suffer from leaking / failed injector seals. This results in leaking back into the cylinder which contaminates the oil.
1KD-FTV Engine Overheating. These engines also suffer from overheating caused by failed water pumps & hoses.
This is a simple fix when doing regular maintenance however causes expensive failures if not properly maintained.
The simple fix for these engines is to maintain them on time & we strongly recommend replacing engine cooling & PCV hoses during regular maintenance. It is also recommended to replace the Injector Seals every 100,000kms.
All engines are carefully assembled by one technician from start to finish.
