What Is Included In The DPAT Engine Rebuild Process?

When rebuilding our engines the following premium components are included:

What Are The Common Issues With The Ranger DPAT Engine?

Over time the Ranger DPAT Engine found in the PX1 are starting to show some common faults, some of which are a direct result of lack of maintenance & others are design flaws which are easily rectified when we do the builds.

Oil Starvation / Oil Pressure Issues after servicing. This is caused by the engine being completely drained & then not properly primed prior to start up, this results in the oil system not being able to prime itself and the engine runs low on oil pressure resulting in failures from no lubrication.
When rebuilding these engines we use a revised oil pump which is also a big improvement over the OEM design providing better flow.

Oil Consumption. Occassionally some of these engines suffer from excessive oil consumption & even blow-by. This a result of premature wear & excessive ring end gap clearance. When rebuilding these engines we use a piston set made by TIK pistons which features coated skirts & crowns for temparature control & a revised piston ring pack with specific end gap clearances which are file fit to spec.
It is always recommended to maintain & replace your PCV hoses on these engines!

DPAT Overheating. This is typically a result of poor maintenance resulting in failed radiator hoses or even cracked radiator fittings. Overheating in these causes issues quick resulting in a blown head gasket or worse, a cracked cylinder head! (In the event of cracked cylinder head, we keep replacement DPAT Cylinder Heads on the shelf ready to install.

All engines are carefully assembled by one technician from start to finish.

Rest assured all of our cores are sourced as running engines prior to being rebuilt, we strictly do not accept blown up / broken engines as cores/changeovers!
