What Are The Common Issues Of The TD42 Nissan Engine?
In most cases the TD42 Engine is extremely reliable. It didn't get the name the half a million kilometre engine for nothing!
However, they do require regular maintenance to uphold this title!
We strongly recommend replacing the engine coolant & PCV hoses at the required service intervals, regular oil & coolant changes & replacing the timing kit on time. Provided this is done you should find you avoid the overheating issues some people are coming across.
In the event of overheating it is generally a result of either air trapped in the system or a leaking head gasket which can lead to a cracked cylinder head. We keep replacement cylinder heads in stock in the event of a cracked head.
All engines are carefully assembled by one technician from start to finish.
