Warranty Conditions

 

1. The benefits of this warranty are in addition to your rights and remedies under law, including your rights and remedies under the Australian Consumer Law on the purchase of this engine, which cannot be excluded or modified.


2. Subject to the exclusions and limitations below, the engine reconditioner warrants that the engine will be free from defects in workmanship and materials for the specified warranty period.


3. If a defect covered by warranty appears before the end of the warranty period, then the engine reconditioner will, in its sole discretion, either:

(a) Replace or repair the defective parts or workmanship free of charge,

or

(b) Cause the defective parts or workmanship to be repaired or replaced by a person authorised by the engine reconditioner free of charge.


4. The engine reconditioner will not accept any responsibility under this warranty for any expenses incurred for third party repairs unless written permission is given prior to said repairs being performed.


5. The engine reconditioner reserves the right to replace defective parts of the engine with parts and components of similar quality, grade and composition where an identical part or component is not available. All engines or parts replaced under warranty become the property of the engine reconditioner. Engines presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished goods of the same type rather than being repaired. Refurbished parts may be used to repair the engine.


6. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian consumer law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.


7. The engine reconditioner shall be under no obligation under these warranty conditions if:

(a) Before installation of the engine a qualified mechanic has not confirmed that the engine is fit for the purpose which is supplied and is compatible with the other parts and the vehicle into which the engine is to be installed.

(b) The engine is not installed by a qualified person in accordance with vehicle manufacturer’s specifications and the recommended installation procedures supplied by the engine reconditioner.

(c) The engine is not properly maintained in accordance with the engine reconditioner’s recommended service schedule.

(d) The engine is not installed following the specified installation instructions


8. This warranty does not extend to cover:

(a) Normal wear and tear.

(b) Any modifications from standard, our engines are intended and built to std spec.

(c) Any corrosion or erosion.

(d) Damage caused by misuse, abuse or neglect.

(e) Damage or wear caused by dirt or other contaminants.

(f) Consumables.

(g) Damage caused by overheating.

9. Unless specifically purchased as such, this engine is not suitable for LPG, turbocharged or marine applications.


10. The engine reconditioner shall not be liable for any damage loss of profits or any other loss or damage including consequential loss or damage caused in the event of an engine failure under this warranty.


11. The warranty is not transferable


12. The installers declaration must be completed and signed by the installer at the time of installation.
Subsequent minimum service as detailed in the card must also be validated where indicated as they are performed, with documentation supporting these validations to be produced upon request.


13. If a problem with the engine arises, you must first contact the place of purchase.


14. To make a warranty claim, you must make the engine available at your cost for inspection and testing by the engine reconditioner or its authorised agent. If such inspection and testing finds no defect in the engine, then you must pay the engine reconditioner’s costs of service
work, evaluation and testing



15. The engine reconditioner makes no express warranties or representations other than set out in this warranty.
Servicing Requirements:

1000km /First Service
Change engine oil and filter
Reset/ Adjust tappets (where applicable)
Pressure test cooling system and retighten hose
clamps
Recheck all engine fitment bolts and nuts
Add Coolant


IMPORTANT NOTES


1. Diesel HQ will not be liable for any towing or downtime/accommodation for any claims made.


2. In the event a claim is made, labour costs and times will be based on VACC times guide and current trade labour rates.


3. No claim will be considered after the fact, In the instance of a failure or possible claim, Diesel HQ must be notified and warranty procedure must be followed.


4. Diesel HQ offer a 12-month / 20,000km warranty on remanufactured engines from date of invoice to whichever occurs first, after this period any issues will not be considered a claim, however in certain circumstances assistance may be considered at the discretion of the technician handling the claim.


5. Please do not contact Diesel HQ in regard to oil brand/viscosity and type. Although we can provide general information,
We are not oil specialists! The only recommendation is that mineral oil is used for break in. Please contact your oil supplier for recommendations.
