What Are The Common Issues With The 1VD-FTV?
The 1VD-FTV is typically a really reliable engine when properly maintained.
Early 1VD-FTV engines suffered from excessive oil consumption resulting in premature wear. The later models had a revised vacuum pump & ring end gap tolerances were revised which rectified this.
Our engines are built using a revised piston & ring kit from TIK Pistons which eliminates this.
Another common issue due to poor maintenance is not replacing the fuel filter OR replacing with cheap quality filters.
This results in fuel contamination or even starvation which causes catastrophic failures.
We cannot stress this enough, proper maintenance is key on your engine to avoid failures!
All engines are carefully assembled by one technician from start to finish.
