What Is Included In The YD25 Engine Rebuild Process?

What Are The Common Issues With The YD25 Navara Engine?

The Navara YD25 Is globally known for having a few common faults.

YD25 Stretched Timing Chain. The timing chain kit used in these engines are common to fail when not replaced at the correct interval. Once the chain has stretched it results in damaging the tensioner and in some cases failing causing internal engine failures. When rebuilding these we use genuine timing chain kits which were revised over time to avoid further failures.

YD25 Overheating. This is typically a result of poor maintenance resulting in failed radiator hoses or even cracked radiator fittings. Overheating in these causes issues quick resulting in a blown head gasket or commonly, a cracked cylinder head! (In the event of cracked cylinder head, we keep replacement YD25 Cylinder Heads on the shelf ready to install.

YD25 Oil Consumption. Occassionally some of these engines suffer from excessive oil consumption & even blow-by. This a result of premature wear & excessive ring end gap clearance. When rebuilding these engines we use a piston set made by TIK pistons which features coated skirts & crowns for temparature control & a revised piston ring pack with specific end gap clearances which are file fit to spec.

All engines are carefully assembled by one technician from start to finish.

Rest assured all of our cores are sourced as running engines prior to being rebuilt, we strictly do not accept blown up / broken engines as cores/changeovers!
