What Are The Common Issues Of The P02S Ranger Engine?
The P02S Engines are known for a couple of common faults. Some due to poor maintenance & others due to poor design.
Luckily for the latter there have been revised parts designed to rectify these issues.
A common fault with the P02S Ranger Engine is overheating. This is typically a result of poor maintenance resulting in failed radiator hoses or even cracked radiator fittings. Overheating in these causes issues quick resulting in a blown head gasket or worse, a cracked cylinder head! (In the event of cracked cylinder head, we keep replacement P02S Cylinder Heads on the shelf ready to install.
Oil Starvation on these engines is due to a poorly designed oil pump. When rebuilding the P02S engines we use a revised gear driven pump to rectify this issue and eliminate starvation / oil pressure issues!
All engines are carefully assembled by one technician from start to finish.
